Very sad news received today from Nancy Larsen Dunbar…
Bruce died yesterday of heart failure. I met Bruce in kindergarten at Old Mill School.
He was always, I mean always, the nicest boy in school, which was to his credit since he was also the tallest, towering over his best friends, Wayne Wilcox and Steve Neely, who were the shortest!
He took care of his friends. He used to walk me home from school which was way out of his way.
We are lucky we just got a chance to see him again at the reunion.
Rest in peace, Bruce.
Love, Nancy

One of my favorite memories of Bruce was the brief time he worked with me at Santa’s Toys on Miller Ave. One day he rode around Mill Valley in my mother’s red and white Ford Fairlane convertible (with the top down), dressed as Santa Claus, waving and “ho, ho, ho-ing to everyone.
He was kind to everyone and I can’t remember ever hearing him say a harsh word to or about anyone. I’m so very glad I got a chance to see and talk with him at the reunion. His larger than life gentle presence will be missed in this troubled world.
